All Sharp factories have achieved green status, which includes components of economic efficiency, social mindedness and environmental conservation.

The Sharp LCD television plant in Japan has one of the world’s largest roof mounted solar electricity installations.

At their factories, cogeneration and photovoltaic power generation systems provide about one third of the total energy used. They have reduced their CO2 emissions by 40 percent using an on-site fuel cell system that converts energy without combustion.

Lead, mercury and cadmium have been virtually eliminated from all Sharp products
